Campfires and S'mores

As I mentioned yesterday, I am off roasting marshmallows and eating the best chicken ever (courtesy of Grandpa!). I scheduled some posts for all of you so my blog isn't bare for a whole week. Today, I thought it would be fun to post some pictures of past camping trips. I loved looking through these; seeing how young everyone was and how much they've grown since then was crazy. In many of these pictures you'll see my sister, cousins, brother, and friends. Camping as always been a family activity and I've always brought along a friend or two, who both quickly became family (and still are)! 

Camping is and always will be one of my favorite things about summer. I get so excited thinking about the trip to Peninsula in July, knowing I'll be spending a whole week in the woods and sleeping in a tent. That might not sound like fun to many of you, but to me, it's amazing. So enjoy these pictures while I sit around the campfire and eat my s'mores!

Packing the bags!

The day has finally come. All my bags are packed and I'm ready to go! Who started singing the jet plane song just then? Anyone? Just me? Okay cool. Any who, The car is jammed full of suitcases and bug spray, because today, I'm heading out to the wilderness! Every summer our family takes camping trips each month to our favorite campgrounds. I'm super excited for this trip, because Bria (the bestie) is coming along! It's been years since she has last come and I can't wait! I have posts scheduled for this week so it won't be completely bare here and you have something to look at.

robin eggs

Since summer began and porch sitting has become a daily thing, I've noticed a robin has found a liking to one of my mother's hanging baskets. I kept checking to see if she was making a nest and nothing. Then a few days, BAM there's a nest and three little blue eggs. My mom wasn't very happy. But I can't wait for them to hatch and watch them grow. I'm thinking she'll be back every year now to make the hanging baskets her home. Don't most birds do that?
